My reflections on blogging

There were many things I liked about blogging this semester: I thought this assignment was a great twist on traditional essay-writing. As with traditional essay-writing, we got to practice grammar structures we learned in class and improve our reading skills by doing research on a topic of interest. However, even more importantly, we were able to share our research with other people in class. We were provided with a list of student blog addresses, and encouraged to comment on other students' blogs. This way, the assignment became less of an assessment of the student, by the teacher; but a dialogue where students were encouraged to exchange opinions and practice expressing themselves.

Maybe in future, students should be given a looser word limit- I struggled a lot with trying to summarise all my information into 250 words, and more time was spent trying to keep myself within the word limit than really expressing myself. Overall, though, I enjoyed this task (at least, more than any other kind of homework)!
